Your New Hoop Page: How to Attract More Customers
Having an online presence is vital in attracting new families to your activities. Here’s how your newly redesigned Hoop page will help families discover your activities.
Your Hoop page is the main home of your activities on Hoop, and it’s what families see when they search for your business. We've made some big changes to these pages to help more families discover what makes your activities great. Here are some of the key things we wanted to highlight:
Ratings & Reviews
Scroll down on your new Hoop page to see the Ratings & Reviews section. We’ve had overwhelming feedback from families that reviews are an important part of choosing an activity, so we wanted to make this stand out. Organisers with ratings and written reviews are twice as likely to get a booking on Hoop. In fact, 75% of families have told us that it is “very important” to them to read reviews before attending an activity.
Don’t worry - you don’t need a perfect 5 star rating to attract customers. Studies like this one have shown that customers are much more likely to trust a review if it’s less than 5 stars. Read more about reviews here.
In addition to ratings and reviews, Hoop families told us they wanted an overview of the positives about an organiser. For verified reviews, customers are asked to leave ‘quick feedback’, choosing from a list of options like ‘value for money’ and ‘great teachers.’ We now display the three highest rated factors alongside your review ratings. This will help make it clearer to potential customers exactly what it is that makes your activities great.
With over 10,000 votes cast, Hoop families now recognise the Hoop Awards as an industry standard among kids activities. Winners, runners-up and Hoop heroes badges are now displayed on Hoop pages, a powerful trust signal for families looking to book a new activity.
The Hoop Awards 2019 are over, but stay tuned for updates about the Hoop Awards 2020 over the coming months. We hope to be able to recognise even more activity organisers in more locations next year. Shortlists in 2019 were based on interaction with your listings on Hoop, and it’s likely this will continue to be the case. The best thing you can do to increase your chances of success in 2020 is keep your listings up-to-date on Hoop and encourage customers to review your activities.
Discovering Your Activities
We’re making it easier for families to filter by things like distance, activity type (class, workshop, custom), price and more. By doing so, families will be able to find their favourites more quickly or discover new activities relevant to them. This will help you reach families who are looking for exactly what you’ve got to offer and give them all the information they need in order to come along.
How can you make your Hoop page stand out
Make sure families visiting your Hoop page see what you’ve got to offer by keeping your Hoop page up to date. There are a few things you can do:
Make sure you have an eye-catching image. We find that real photos from your activities showing kids having fun (without any logos or text) perform best on Hoop.
Give your business an attention grabbing name and description. Make sure it’s clear what your activity is, what families can expect if they come along - and make it fun!
Ask your regular customers for reviews. Customers who come along to your activities regularly probably have some great things to say, so ask them to review you with your personal review link (find it here).
Keep your listings up to date! An empty page is no help to families. Make sure that parents who find your page know what you’ve got coming up by adding your activity listings to Hoop.
